Suriya's Soorarai Pottru is one of the most anticipated films of this year and the release of the movie has been pushed due to the ongoing lockdown and coronavirus pandemic. The movie directed by Sudha Kongara of Irundhi Suttru fame is produced by Suriya and Guneet Monga, under their respective banners 2D Entertainment and Sikhya Entertainment. Aparna Balamurali plays the lady lead and names like Urvashi, Karunas, Jackie Shroff, Mohan Babu, Paresh Rawal, Sampath Raj, Achyuth Kumar, Vivek Prasanna, Krishnakumar Balasubramanian and Kaali Venkat will be seen in important roles. Music is composed by GV Prakash Kumar, the cinematography is handled by Niketh Bommireddy and editing is done by Sathish Suriya.
