Director Nishikant Kamat is known for directing films like Dombivali Fast, Mumbai Meri Jaan, Force, Lai Bhaari, Rocky Handsome, Madaari, and more. His debut film Dombivali Fast won the National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Marathi. He has also directed Madhavan's Tamil film, Evano Oruvan that had Sangeetha and Seeman playing pivotal roles. Nishikant also directed the Hindi remake of Mohanlal's acclaimed blockbuster Drishyam that starred Ajay Devgn and Shriya Saran in the lead roles. Apart from being a director, nishikant Kamat has also acted in supporting roles in films like Hava Aney Dey, Saatchya Aat Gharat, 404 Error Not Found, Rocky Handsome, Fugay, Daddy, Julie 2, Bhavesh Joshi, etc.

The acclaimed director was admitted to a private hospital in Hyderabad on July 31 after he was diagnosed with Chronic Liver Disease and other secondary infections. He was admitted in the ICU ward of the hospital and was getting treated for his health problems. The fans were praying for his speedy recovery. His health condition was quite critical for the past few days.

Having said that, earlier this morning (August 17), news started doing rounds that director Nishikant Kamat passed away after failing to respond to the medications. A lot of people started to share their condolence messages on social media. Even notable celebrities like actor Madhavan, director Mukesh Chhabra (Dil Bechara fame), Swara Bhasker, Taran Adarsh (film critic and business analyst) and others expressed their shock over Nishikant Kamat's demise.

However, it has now been clarified that Nishikant Kamat is still alive and is on ventilator support. Popular Bollywood actor Riteish Deshmukh made the clarification through his tweet that read, "Nishikant kamat is on ventilator support. He is still alive & fighting. Let’s pray for him.". He also requested the media houses to carry out a clarification article stating that Nishikant is still alive and fighting for life.

There is a sense of confusion among the fans in Bollywood and let us all pray for Nishikant Kamat's speedy recovery. The fans are quite unhappy and angry over the people who started to speculate the news at first without any authentic confirmation.
