June 6 - TN COVID Update: 1458 New Cases | 19 New Deaths | Total - 30,152 Cases & 251 Deaths

It is that time of the day when the official number of the COVID-19 cases are released and June 4th has become the sixth consecutive day recording above 1000 infections in Tamil Nadu. Today marks the highest number of registered cases in Tamil Nadu, for a single day so far. The official numbers of COVID-19 Novel Corona Virus cases in Tamil Nadu are out and we have it for you. The last 24 hours show that Tamil Nadu has had 1458 new cases of COVID positive being reported, taking the overall total to 30,152! Of these, 1,146 new cases have been identified in Chennai alone, taking the district's total to 20,972!
There have been 12 new COVID related deaths in Tamil Nadu in the past 24 hours, taking the total to 251. As of now, Chennai is the biggest hotspot in the state and has 20,972 cases registered. The total number of active cases in entire Tamil Nadu, stands at 13,503 while the number of active cases in Chennai alone, stands at 10,223! The number of recoveries has been good and there have been 633 new recoveries and discharges in the last 24 hours, taking the total number of recovered people to 16,395. There have been 16,022 samples tested, in the past 24 hours alone, taking the total tests to 576,695! Today, Tamil Nadu has become the second state behind Maharashtra to cross 30k COVID infections in India. Meanwhile, different parts of Chennai and Kancheepuram have been experiencing rainfall today evening!
