Vidya Balan sure knows how to command the film screen with her presence. Her bold and powerful performances are major contributing factors to this which makes her a force to be reckoned with. Shefali Shah also holds a similar title for her amazing acting prowess which to impossible to look past. With all that said, the two actresses have now come together for a new project.

Starring the two powerhouse actresses, Vidya Balan and Shefali Shah, in the lead, the film titled Jalsa is directed by Suresh Triveni and jointly produced by himself, Bhushan Kumar & Krishan Kumar of T-Series and Vikram Malhotra & Shikhaa Sharma of Abundantia Entertainment. Joining the two actresses is a stellar ensemble cast that will feature actors like Manav Kaul, Rohini Hattangadi, Iqbal Khan, Vidhatri Bandi, Shrikant Mohan Yadav, Shafeen Patel, and Surya Kasibhatla.

Both Vidya Balan and Shefali Shah took to their respective Twitter handles to announce this news to the public. We were left on the edge of our seats when Vidya Balan posted the first look of the movie featuring its two leads with a caption that read, "The real story hides beneath her smile. The drama thriller will have a global premiere on Amazon Prime Video on 18 March 2022 in India and across 240 countries and territories worldwide. Suresh Triveni has earlier collaborated with Vidya Balan for the critically acclaimed Tumhari Sulu which makes this the second time the duo will be seen working together. It also marks the third collaboration between Amazon Prime Video and Vidya Balan. Jalsa appears to be a captivating tale of conflict, shown through the life of a journalist and a cook.

Shefali Shah is currently awaiting the release of her films Doctor G and Darlings while Vidya Balan on the other hand has committed to produce and star as Indira Gandhi in an untitled web series based on Sagarika Ghose's biography Indira – India's Most Powerful Prime Minister.
