Details regarding the legendary singer’s cremation has now been officially announced. SPB’s mortal remains will be taken to Thamaraipakkam, near Thiruninravur tomorrow (September 26) morning.
He will be cremated at his farm house in Thamaraipakkam around 11 AM in the morning. SPB Charan’s official PR Nikkil Murugan shared the news through his Twitter page. After getting admitted to MGM Healthcare hospital on August 5 for Corona complications, SP Balasubrahmanyam was under medication for the past 50 days. Despite recovering from Corona Virus, his lungs were affected and the Doctors tried their best to make him get back to normalcy. He showed good signs of recovery in the past few days and we were regularly updated about his progress through his son, Charan. However, his health worsened in the past 24 hours and since then, the fans were hoping for a miracle to happen.
SPB's demise is a big loss to the Indian film fraternity and he has left a void in the music industry. Galatta Media prays for the departed soul to rest in peace. SPB is survived by his wife Savithri, son SPB Charan and daughter SPB Pallavi. SPB is also a recipient of the Civilian honours, Padma Shri and Padma Bhushan. After making his singing debut with the Telugu film, Sri Sri Sri Maryada Ramanna in 1966, SPB has recorded more than 40000 songs in various languages. Notably, SPB holds the record for singing most number of songs by a male singer. He was a versatile singer who was the best in any given genre. He has made some of the ordinary songs sound extraordinary with his rendition and the country wouldn’t find a singer of his stature.
