Suriya’s Soorarai Pottru is waiting to hit the screens after the pandemic and the fans are eagerly waiting for the d-day. The film is expected to boost the box office business which has flunked due to the unexpected outbreak of Corona virus. Directed by Sudha Kongara of Irudhi Suttru fame, Soorarai Pottru is expected to showcase a different dimension of Suriya and it is indeed going to be exciting to witness it. The teaser and the promos that have been released so far are highly promising and one can be sure that the film will leave an impact among the audience. Suriya’s different makeovers have also got a good attention from the film buffs.

For the uninformed, Soorarai Pottru is based on the real life incidents of G.R.Gopinath, the founder of Air Deccan. Produced by Suriya’s 2D Entertainment in association with Sikhya Entertainment, this film has music scored by G.V.Prakash Kumar who has already delivered some chartbuster numbers including the recently released ‘Kaattu Payale’ song. The rest of the songs are expected to release prior to the film’s release. Soorarai Pottru’s cinematography is handled by Niketh Bommi, while the editing is taken care of by Sathish Suriya. Apart from Suriya, the film also stars Aparna Balamurali, Mohan Babu, Paresh Rawal, Arjunan, Karunas, Urvashi, Kaali Venkat, Vivek Prasanna and others.

The film has been censored with a clean ‘U’ certificate and the makers revealed that the film has been passed uncut. Following that, the full censor report details have now been revealed and the picture of the censor report has been doing rounds on social media. According to the official report on CBFC’s official website, Soorarai Pottru will run for a duration of 153 minutes (2 hrs 33 minutes). A run time of 2.5 hours is ideal and if the film is packed with an interesting screenplay, the fans and general audience will surely enjoy it.

However, CBFC has ordered for mutes in a few dialogues that have cuss words. The words which have been muted or changed are listed in the image below the article. There have been no visual cuts or blurs and the fans will see exactly what was shot. Soorarai Pottru’s release date is expected to be announced when the theatres reopen after the pandemic.
