The 2018 Kannada film, K. G. F: Chapter 1, went on to become a nationwide blockbuster after it was dubbed in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam languages, making 'Rocking Star' Yash a rage among the youth across the nation. The box office blockbuster success of KGF: Chapter 1 left both fans and critics stunned as it went on to become the highest-grossing film in the history of Kannada cinema with the upcoming sequel, K. G. F: Chapter 2, announced to come out a grand release this summer and many already calling it to be the most expected film of the year.

Being directed by Prashanth Neel under the Hombale Films banner and featuring music by Ravi Basrur, KGF: Chapter 2 will see Yash reprising his role as Raja Krishnappa Bairya aka. Rocky alongside Bollywood actress Raveena Tandon, who was cast as Ramika Sen, after the character was first teased in KGF: Chapter 1 as India's Prime Minister in 1981. Now, Raveena Tandon has announced on her social networking pages that she has wrapped up filming her portions in KGF 2 by sharing a picture and a video of herself with the film's crew on her Instagram page. Apart from Yash and Raveena Tandon, KGF: Chapter 2 will see a majority of the cast from KGF: Chapter 1 reprising their roles among whom include Srinidhi Shetty as the female lead, Anant Nag as Anand Ingalagi, Malavika Avinash as Deepa Hegde, Archana Jois as Shanthamma, Vasishta N. Simha as Kamal, Avinash B S as Andrews and possibly the villain from the first film, Ramachandra Raju as Garuda. They will be joining new cast members featuring names like Bollywood superstar Sanjay Dutt as Adheera, Vada Chennai fame Saran Sakthi and popular Telugu actor Rao Ramesh with the upcoming film also set to feature a song at the popular Taj Falaknuma Palace in Hyderabad.
