Telugu Super Star Mahesh Babu will be joining hands with blockbuster filmmaker, Trivikram for his next film and the official announcement regarding the project was made by the makers, this evening (May 1). The announcement has already gone viral and has made the fans supremely excited. This new project is tentatively called SSMB 28 (standing for Mahesh Babu's 28th film). Director Trivikram and Mahesh Babu have already worked together in two films - Athadu in 2005 and Khaleja in 2010 and this new film marks their third association. The blockbuster combo of Trivikram and Mahesh Babu are coming together after a gap of 11 years and it is surely going to be an exciting project to watch out for.

The film will be produced by S Radha Krishna under the banner of Haarika & Hassine Creations. Through the announcement video, the makers have revealed that SSMB 28 will be hitting the screens for Summer 2022 and the film is going to have a phenomenal opening at the box office. The shooting of the film is all set to begin very soon and director Trivikram is said to be busy with the final leg of pre production works.

Trivikram's last directorial venture was the Allu Arjun starrer Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo which turned out to be a mega blockbuster across the country. Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo was widely enjoyed by the audience and Trivikram was praised for packing the film neatly with all commercial elements. The songs of Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo have earned a cult status among the fans and music lovers and even today, the songs are widely popular (creidts to S Thaman). Trivikram will be looking forward to continuing the momentum with SSMB 28, as well.

On the other hand, Mahesh Babu is currently shooting for Sarkaru Vaari Paata, which is directed by Parasuram of Geetha Govindam fame.
