It is that time of the day when the official numbers of the COVID-19 cases are released and here we bring it for you along with a comprehensive round-up of all the details! The last 24 hours show that Tamil Nadu has had 548 new cases of COVID positive being reported, taking the overall total to 831,323! After over months together of continuously recording a high number of new cases each day since May, Tamil Nadu finally begun recording less than 1,000 cases in recent days. The good news is that the numbers are continuing to reduce steadily and Chennai's daily new cases tally has been steadily recording below 200 in these recent days! 158 new cases have been identified in Chennai alone, taking the district's total to 229,238! Kancheepuram has recorded 20 new cases and the district has now registered a total of 29,082 and 133 of them are currently active! Chengalpattu has recorded 50,922 total cases of which 351 are currently active and Thiruvallur has recorded a total of 43,247 cases with 216 of them being currently active. Coimbatore alone has recorded 69 new cases in the last 24 hours, while Chengalpattu has recorded 40 cases and Tiruvallur has recorded 30 new cases!
There have been 08 new COVID related deaths in Tamil Nadu in the past 24 hours, taking the total to 12,272. As of now, Chennai is the district with the most number of COVID cases recorded so far, in the state and has 229,238 cases registered. The total number of active cases in entire Tamil Nadu, stands at 5,725 while the number of active cases in Chennai alone stands at 1,939! There have been 758 new recoveries and discharges in the last 24 hours, taking the total number of recovered people to 813,326. There have been 50,501 new samples tested, in the past 24 hours alone, taking the total tests to 15,279,808 tests, which is still the highest for any state in our country! 50,248 people have been tested in the last 24 hours, taking the total number of people tested so far, to 14,971,136!
