Both the film's music and the score are composed by G. V. Prakash Kumar, with its cinematography being handled by Gopinath and editing done by Anthony.
The makers of the film released a scene from the movie which caught the attention of many people while watching the film. The scene that is being talked about is the bar fight scene. The reason behind its obsession and why it is being talked about is because this long scene was shot in a single take. This is no easy feat and it takes a lot of practice in order to nail such a shot and get it perfect. The shot is nearly 2 minutes long, just falling short of 10 seconds, and it was ultimately executed just as planned. This pre-interval shot was set up beautifully and was grandly lead to the intermission of the film.
Yaanai marks the first collaboration between Arun Vijay and Hari, and the second collaboration of Arun Vijay and Priya Bhavani Shankar after having previously worked together on 2020's Mafia: Chapter 1. The film opened up to mixed reviews from fans and critics alike as well as the general public. The film was praised for its direction, performances from the entire cast, emotional scenes, action sequences, and for its mesmerizing background score.
