Actor Meena’s husband Vidyasagar recently passed away on Monday (June 29) in a private hospital in Chennai. He was said to have been suffering from severe lung infection and was reportedly under treatment for the same for the last few months.

Meena married Vidyasagar, a Bangalore-based software engineer, on 12 July 2009 at Arya Vysya Samaj Kalyana Mandapam, in which all leading southern Indian actors participated. The couple has a daughter Nainika who made her screen debut as a child artist at the age of 5 by taking on the role of Thalapathy Vijay’s daughter in the blockbuster film Theri which was released back in 2016.

Many from the film industry came forwards to pay their respects to the veteran actor. While some went directly to her house in order to do so, some took the opportunity to do it via social media along with the thousand other fans who also sent their condolences to the actor. Actors like Jayam Ravi, Khushbu Sundar, Lakshmi Manchu, Sanjeev Venkat, Vishal, Sarath Kumar, and Jagapathi Babu among others offered their deepest condolences to Meena and Vidyasagar's entire family.

Jayam Ravi wrote, "RIP my friend Sagar. You fought so bravely. My heart goes out to Meena and Nainika. Our prayers to overcome this loss". Khushbu Sundar wrote, "Waking up to a terrible news.Heartbroken to learn actor Meena's husband, Sagar, is no more with us. He was battling lung ailment for long. Heart goes out to Meena n her young daughter. Life is cruel. At loss of words to express grief. Deepest condolences to the family. #RIP 🙏😭 "
