Virata Parvam is an upcoming Telugu period political romantic drama film written and directed by Venu Udugula, and produced by D. Suresh Babu and Sudhakar Cherukuri. The film stars Sai Pallavi and Rana Daggubati while Priyamani, Nandita Das, Naveen Chandra, Zarina Wahab, Easwari Rao, and Sai Chand play supporting roles. The film has its music composed by Suresh Bobbili with cinematography by Mahanati fame Dani Sanchez-Lopez and Divakar Mani. The film which was Initially scheduled to release on 30 April 2021 was postponed due to the COVID-19 situation in India was later scheduled to release on 1 July 2022.
Well, in a turn of events, the film is now scheduled to release 2 weeks earlier than they had planned. Therefore the film will now release theatrically on 17 June 2022 instead. This was confirmed by an ecstatic Sai Pallavi herself who took to her official Twitter handle to share the wonderful news. The plot is inspired by true events of the 1990s. Rana will be seen playing the role of Comrade Ravanna who is also known by his pen name Aranya. Sai Pallavi will be seen as his admirer named Vennela. The film revolves around and is also set in the backdrop of the Naxalite movement that took place in Telangana region.
Apart from this, on the work front, Sai Pallavi has also signed for a film titled Gargi, written and directed by Gautham Ramchandran, which reportedly revolves around a woman who is fighting for justice. On the other hand, Rana Daggubati was last scene in Saagar K. Chandra's action thriller Bheemla Nayak co-starring Pawan Kalyan. Rana is also set to star in the Netflix series Rana Naidu alongside his uncle Venkatesh, in an official adaptation of American crime drama show Ray Donovan.
