If an incident that disturbed the entire state of Tamil Nadu, then it should be the unfortunate death of Subashri, the 23 year old B Tech graduate. The young woman ended her life after meeting with a tragic accident when an illegally erected AIADMK banner fell on her and was immediately run over by a water tanker lorry that was following behind her. This terrifying accident happened near Kamatchi Hospital at the Pallavaram - Thoraipakkam 200 ft road. Not only this incident took everyone by shock, but it also created a sense of anger among the people over the political party for erecting illegal banners and cut-outs.
With this incident being the hot topic in town, Thalapathy Vijay has made a breaking decision of not having any banners or cut-outs for the upcoming audio launch of his next film, Bigil. The grand audio launch of Bigil will happen on September 19 and as like other Vijay films, this event is also expected to be bigger, massive, and extravagant. It has been an usual practice of fans to erect banners and cut outs ahead of their favourite star's film releases and audio launch events.
However, this time, Vijay has made a strong request to his fans, not to do any such activities that would affect the pathway of the people who travel on the road. This announcement came through a press statement released by Vijay Makkal Iyakkam, headed by Bussy Anand. This decision from Thalapathy Vijay has earned the support of people on social media. We know that Vijay never fails to address socially concerning problems and this decision is a reflection of that.
Similarly, actor Suriya has also requested his fans not to erect any banners or cut outs during the release of his next film, Kaappaan, which is scheduled to hit the screens on September 20. It looks like our actors have realised the importance of not having this banner/cut-out culture.
