Composer-turned-actor Vijay Antony's wife Fatima has penned a heartbreaking statement about their daughter Meera, who was found dead at their residence in Alwarpet, Chennai, in the early hours of September 19. She took to social media on Monday, October 9, to mourn the loss of her beloved daughter writing that she would have kept her close if she had known she was going to live only for 16 years. An emotional Fatima further stated that she is finding it difficult to keep going ahead saying she wants Meera to come back to be with their family. She wrote on X, "If I’d known u will live only for 16 yrs, I would have just kept u very very close to me,not even shown you to the sun and moon,am drowning and dying with ur thoughts,can’t live without you ,come back to babba and amma.laara keeps waiting for u,love u Thangam⦠@vijayantony". (sic)
The news of Vijay Antony's teen daughter Meera's death last month left the Tamil film fraternity and fans in a big shock. According to reports, the late teenager, a student of class 12 at a private school, was found dead in her bedroom and was rushed to a hospital where she was declared dead on her arrival. Meera's mortal remains were then sent to the Omandurar Government Hospital where it was confirmed in the autopsy report that she died by suicide. Her mortal remains were then shifted to Vijay Antony's residence where noted Tamil cinema personalities paid their last respects. Meera's funeral proceedings took place on the morning of September 20 and her mortal remains were laid to rest at the Kilpauk Cemetery as per Christian traditions.
On September 21, Vijay Antony posted a note in Tamil on social media in remembrance of Meera writing, "My dear people, my daughter Meera is an affectionate and bold girl. She has now gone to a peaceful world where there is no caste, religion, money, jealousy, pain, poverty, or spite. She is still speaking with me. I too have died with her. I have now begun spending my time with her. I will now carry out good deeds on her behalf and she will kickstart them. Yours Vijay Antony".
