Vijay Antony's next big film, Pichaikkaran 2, is gearing up for a huge release on May 19 and also marks his directorial debut. With promotions underway for the upcoming film, the composer turned actor has now spoken out about the injuries he had sustained during the shooting in Malaysia when he fell off a jet ski during a sequence. Describing the Pichaikkaran 2 shooting accident, Vijay Antony said, "I had gone to Malaysia for the film's shooting at a place called Langkawi. Myself and the heroine (Kavya Thapar) were shooting a scene on a jet ski. The crew was filming us from another boat. I'm riding the jet ski at top speed. Since I thought it would be visually appealing if I my jet ski got close to the crew's boat, I steered the vehicle next to it. We finished the first round. I felt we could do better on the second turn and was moving properly, but after a certain point, I don't remember what happened. I'm unsure if the waves lifted the jet ski up, but I lost control and my face ended up hitting on the vehicle."
Explaining the collision, Vijay Antony stated, "My nose went inside and my jaw dropped down. I fell unconscious into the sea and went underwater. Had I been conscious, I could have moved my hands and legs around and since I was unconscious, my body went underwater and came back to the surface on its own. The film's assistant cameraman, heroine, and others pulled me up from the water and saved me. One of my eyes also got scratched as a result. A day after all this happened, I opened my eyes. I turned around to look at everyone watching me worried and I then gave them assurance to not panic. I was under the belief that the accident wasn't anything big and was reassuring everyone there. Only when I saw the mirror later, I realized how much had happened. Even now if you look, my jaw has gone inside. There are a few discomforts when I speak. There are around 8-9 plates on my face, but all that is nothing. My mind feels good."
