As we all know, the unexpected pandemic situation has made a lot of producers and filmmakers opt for a direct OTT digital release and it has helped them to be financially stable. Jyotika’s Ponmagal Vandhal, Keerthy Suresh’s Penguin, Ayushmann Khurrana’s Gulabo Sitabo, Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s Ghoomketu, Aditi Rao Hydari’s Sufiyum Sujatayum, Shraddha Srinath’s Krishna And His Leela are some of the notable films that released directly on OTT platform during this lockdown period.
More films are lined up for release and the list includes Sushant Singh Rajput’s Dil Bechara, Akshay Kumar’s Laxmmi Bomb, Abhishek Bachchan’s The Big Bull, Ajay Devgn’s Bhuj: The Pride Of India, Yogi Babu’s Cocktail, Vaibhav’s Lock Up, Varalaxmi Sarathkumar’s Danny, Alia Bhatt’s Sadak 2, etc. Vidyut Jammwal’s long delayed Yaara is also one of the films that will see a direct OTT release in this testing time.
This action thriller will stream on Zee 5 platform and an official announcement regarding the release was made in the beginning of this month. The film is scheduled to premiere on July 30 in Zee 5 app. Ahead of the release, the makers have now released the official trailer of the film and it looks quite promising. The trailer has a mix of all elements, but action seems to be the major highlight.
Yaara has Amit Sadh and Shruti Haasan in supporting roles and it is directed by Tigmanshu Dhulia. The film has been in the production for quite a long time and the fans can finally see the film in the next few days. Notably, this happens to be Shruti Haasan’s first film to release directly on OTT, while for Vidyut Jammwal this will be the second film (with another being Khuda Haafiz releasing on Disney + Hotstar platform).
Reportedly, Yaara deals with the story of two friends who get trapped into the world of crime. The trailer also shows the lead characters in different time frames and the makeover looks interesting. Produced by Sunir Kheterpal and Tigmanshu Dhulia under the banner of Azure Entertainment, Yaara has cinematography by Rishi Punjabi and editing by Geeta Singh. Siddharth Pandit, Ankit Tiwari, Shaan Gourov and Roshin have composed the songs while the background score has been composed by Clinton Cerejo.
The trailer has been released on the official YouTube channel of Zee 5. Check out the trailer of Vidyut Jammwal - Shruti Haasan starrer Yaara here:
