The world has been locked in a battle for more than one and a half years with the coronavirus pandemic, which has claimed millions of lives, while also forcing an economic slowdown on seismic scales. As governments around the globe are engaged in getting citizens vaccinated for their protection, the world of entertainment too has witnessed several notable personalities succumbing to COVID-19, including other health issues during this trying period. In that light, veteran Telugu actor and producer Bommireddy Raghava Prasad passed away on Friday after being ill for the past few days. He was 64.

Bommireddy Raghava Prasad is known for making appearances in supporting and character roles in notable Telugu films like Bangaru Bullodu, Dongala Bandi, Rajadhani, Rangavalli, including Sourya Chakra, while also playing the lead in Kirathakudu, which also saw him in the role of the producer. It is to be noted that during the course of his career, he also co-produced the film, Rupee. Apart from his passion for acting and films, Bommireddy Raghava Prasad is said to have served as the village sarpanch of Rajulapalem, P.Gannavaram mandal in East Godavari district in the state of Andhra Pradesh.

The news of Bommireddy Raghava Prasad's demise has come as a big shock for fans and many in the Telugu film industry, who have been expressing their condolences on social media with tributes. He is survived by his wife and two sons.
