The news of veteran music director, lyricist, and director Gangai Amaran's wife, Manimegalai, passing away during the night hours of Sunday, has left many across the Tamil film industry still reeling in shock. Manimegalai Gangai Amaran, mother to Venkat Prabhu and Premgi Amaran - had been admitted to the Kauvery Hospital in Chennai following a brief illness, where she breathed her last around 11 PM. As many fans and celebrities are extending their emotional support to the family during this time of grief, Silambarasan TR expressed his sorrow on Monday in a condolence message he posted on his social media pages.
Simbu's statement is as follows:
"Beloved director Venkat Prabhu and friend Premgi, Yuvan, who are all my brothers, I do not know how to comfort you now. You are all people who usually take things in your stride. These past two years, despite us being friends for a long time, I have noticed how you all casually move forward in accordance to any situation over these two years. The love and affection you have for your mother, I understand how difficult it will be to overcome this pain. The loss of your mother is definitely not something believable. It is a loss I cannot comfort you with my words. I am sharing the grief along with your father and your family. I pray for your mother's soul to rest in peace in the hands of God. With tears, Silambarasan TR".

The shooting on the film is nearing completion, with post-production works already underway, including a teaser as well released sometime back. Premgi Amaran too is currently attached to several projects as a composer.
