In a shocking incident, reputed Bollywood and South Indian films producer Boney Kapoor filed a police complaint after his credit card was allegedly misused leading to fraudulent transactions of around Rs. 4 lakh. In his complaint, it has been stated that an amount of Rs. 3.82 lakh was transferred in five transactions recently after which a case was registered under relevant sections of the Information Technology Act at the Amboli police station in Mumbai on Wednesday.
According to reports, Boney Kapoor had learned about the fraudulent transactions after he raised an inquiry at the bank about the money that had been withdrawn from his account. Soon after, he filed a written police complaint with the police and told the authorities that he did not receive any phone call regarding his credit card details nor did anyone ask him anything about it. The police are suspecting that someone might have acquired the data from Boney Kapoor when he was using his credit card. It is being reported that the amount from the hit film producer's account has gone to the account of a company in Gurugram and an investigation is currently underway.
On the work front, Boney Kapoor has been basking in the glorious successes of his recent releases namely Ajith Kumar's Valimai and Udhayanidhi Stalin's Nenjuku Needhi and the hit producer has a few big Tamil films lined up ahead. Up next, the popular producer has begun promoting the upcoming family comedy entertainer Veetla Vishesham, a remake of the 2018 Hindi film Badhaai Ho, which is set to release on June 17 and has been directed by RJ Balaji, who is also starring in the lead role alongside Soorarai Pottru heroine Aparna Balamurali, followed by veteran actors Sathyaraj, Urvashi and the late K.P.A.C. Lalitha. Boney Kapoor is also bankrolling the upcoming AK 61 starring Ajith under H. Vinoth's direction makes it the third consecutive collaboration for the trio after their Nerkonda Paarvai and Valimai.
