Six-time National Award-winning director Mani Ratnam recently kicked off filming on his most ambitious dream project, the historical epic magnum opus, Ponniyin Selvan, based on acclaimed Tamil writer Kalki Krishnamurthy's novel of the same name. The reputed filmmaker is also producing the upcoming Tamil drama film, Vaanam Kottattum, under his Madras Talkies banner, which is scheduled to hit screens worldwide on February 7. Directed by Padai Veeran fame Dhana Sekaran, the action family drama features music by popular singer Sid Sriram, for whom the venture incidentally marks his debut as a composer.

With promotions for Vaanam Koottattum already underway in an active manner for quite sometime, the makers have now released the much-awaited 'En Uyir Kaatre' song sung by Sid Sriram featuring lyrics penned by Siva Ananth. Sid Sriram has impressed everyone with his compositions in Vaanam Kottattum and many have credited him for showing prowess as a music director in his debut film. Songs like 'Kannu Thangom', 'Easy Come Easy Go', 'Poova Thalaiyaa' have gone on to receive a huge response from fans and expectations for the film are now high considering the teaser and the tracks have left many satisfied, who are waiting for the trailer coming out on January 23.

Vaanam Kottattum includes a huge ensemble cast among whom are Vikram Prabhu, Madonna Sebastian, Aishwarya Rajesh and Shanthanu Bhagyaraj in the lead roles followed by Sarathkumar, Radhika Sarathkumar, Nandaa, Amitash Pradhan, Balaji Sakthivel, Madhusudhana Rao and others in important supporting roles.
