Tamil actor-producer Udhayanidhi Stalin's Nenjuku Needhi is set to open in theatres worldwide on May 20 and the trailer for the upcoming film released on Monday. Directed by Kanaa fame Arunraja Kamaraj and jointly produced by Bayview Projects and Zee Studios in association with Romeo Pictures, the film is an official remake of the Bollywood neo-noir crime drama Article 15, with Udhayanidhi playing the role of a top police official as portrayed by Ayushmann Khurrana in the 2019 Hindi original. In the Nenjuku Needhi trailer, we see Udhayanidhi arriving at the scene of a crime and investigating the death of two young girls, and also coming across the various inconsistencies in the system. Apart from the spotlight on the caste atrocities in society, the trailer shows Udhayanidhi's struggles in dealing with the issues surrounding the crimes, while also taking steps in tackling them. Expectations for Nenjuku Needhi have been high right from the moment of the announcement of the film and all eyes will be on the team to deliver a solid and engaging crime entertainer.
Udhayanidhi Stalin will be sharing screen space with Tanya Ravichandran of Karuppan fame in Nenjuku Needhi, which also includes an ensemble star cast featuring the likes of Shivani Rajashekar, Yamini Chander, Suresh Chakravarthi, Ilavarasan, Mayilsamy, Abdool Lee, Ratsasan Saravanan, Ramesh Thilak, Shayaji Shinde among others. As for the technical team, Dhibu Ninan Thomas is the music director, followed by Dinesh Krishnan. B for cinematography, Ruben as the editor, with Vinoth Rajkumar and Lalgudi N Ilayaraja serving as the art directors, and costume design by Anu Vardhan.
