Kannai Nambathey is a long-awaited movie starring Udhayanidhi Stalin in the lead role. The movie is directed by Mu Muran after his debut film Iravukku Aayiram Kangal. The film also has Aathmika as the female lead with Prasanna, Sathish, Bhumika Chawla, Vasundhara Kashyap, Marimuthu, Subiksha Krishnan, Srikanth, Pazha.Karuppaiah, Sendrayan and Ku Ganasambandam in important roles. The racy thriller has created an anticipation among movie buffs and fans, as it's the second to the last film of the talented actor Udhayanidhi Stalin because he has become a part of the Tamil Nadu Government cabinet as the Minister of Youth Welfare and Sports Development in December.
The makers of the film have now revealed that the movie has been censored by the Central Board for Film Certification, ahead of its release of the film. Kannai Nambathey has received a UA certification from the board. The distributors of the film have released a new poster sharing the certification of the movie. The poster has the caption saying “behind every crime is a story of emotion”, which was also featured in the film’s trailer. The film has music by Siddhu Kumar, Cinematography by Jalandhar Vasan and editing by San Lokesh.
The film is produced by Lipi Cine Crafts and is distributed by Red Giant Movies and it will surely be another feather in their cap. Iravukku Aayiram Kangal was a thriller film that got positive feedback from movie-goers, as Kannai Nambathey is the second project of the director, expectations of the film is high. The star cast of Udhayanidhi Stalin, Srikanth, Prasanna, Bhumika and Aathmika has also add to fans' excitement. Kannai Nambathey has been in the works since 2019 and is set to hit the theatres on March 17. The post-theatrical OTT streaming rights of the film has been bagged by Netflix and the television rights had been acquired by Kalaignar TV.
