A highly popular name in Bengali cinema, Mimi lodged a complaint at the Gariahat police station after the untoward incident she had encountered during her travel. The actress in her complaint stated that the incident had taken place on Monday night near the Ballygunge Phari area and alleged that the taxi driver passed lewd and vulgar comments against her after which authorities had nabbed the accused, who was identified as Deba Yadav.
In her complaint, Mimi stated, "The fact of the case is that on 14.9.20 at 13.30 hrs while the complainant was moving on her car along Gariahat road from Ballygunge Phari towards Gariahat crossing, an unknown driver of taxi misbehaved with the complainant."
