'Thalapathy' Vijay recently made a public appearance during the Tamil Nadu urban local body elections and arrived in a Maruti Celerio ZXI car. Soon after he cast his vote, rumors began spreading stating that the Tamil superstar had defaulted on his car insurance payments. According to reports, the RTO portal had displayed an unpaid challan in the actor's name as not having renewed his car insurance. That said, an official statement has been released by Vijay's publicist on Monday putting an end to those rumors, while also sharing a copy of his vehicle's insurance.

Vijay was one of the first people to arrive early in the morning on February 19 to cast his vote at the polling booth in Neelankarai in the 2022 Tamil Nadu urban civic poll elections. His arrival drew a huge crowd outside the voting centre, including some inconvenience caused to the public, for which Vijay had also apologized. Sharing the photo of the insurance copy on Twitter, PRO Riaz wrote, "For the past few days, a news stating that #ThalapathyVijay's car insurance is still due has been doing the rounds on social media. Here is a copy of the insurance, in which it is clearly stated that the insurance is valid till May 28, 2022!"

On the work front, Vijay's Beast directed by Nelson Dilipkumar under the blockbuster Sun Pictures banner and featuring music by Anirudh Ravichander is set to open in theatres this April. Touted to be a mass action thriller, the film is carrying tremendous buzz and the response to the first single track 'Arabic Kuthu' has been nothing short of spectacular after it was released last week. Vijay is also expected to kick-start shooting on his Thalapathy 66 from March under Vamshi Paidipally's direction and will be produced by Dil Raju's Sri Venkateswara Creations banner.
