Art director Sathees Kumar posted an emotional statement on Twitter late Sunday evening, July 16, after wrapping filming on the upcoming film, Leo, last week. Informing that the sets created for the film will be dismantled, the popular Tamil cinema technician said that he along with the team of the Lokesh Kanagaraj directorial will miss spending time with 'Thalapathy' Vijay as they will have to wait another half a decade after working together for nearly half a year. Sathees Kumar tweeted, "it's a Wrap for #LEO Sets Are Going to be dismantledð¥ ðï¸ð¥Got the chance to spend half year with you sir @actorvijay, we will be waiting for another half decade to spend with you, We Miss you Sirð« (sic)".
Sathees Kumar has been a frequent collaborator of Lokesh Kanagaraj and worked on all his four films, Maanagaram (2017), Kaithi (2019), Master (2021), and Vikram (2023), and the duo is once again set to delight audiences with their work in Vijay's Leo, which is scheduled for an October 19 worldwide theatrical release. Apart from associating with Lokesh Kanagaraj, Sathees has also garnered praise for his work in several other notable Tamil films like OK Kanmani (2015), Joker (2016), 8 Thottakkal (2016), Velaiilla Pattadhari 2 (2017), Savarakathi (2018), and Mercury (2018). It is to be noted that Sathees had a special surprise birthday thrown for him on the sets of Master as pictures showed Vijay feeding him some cake, with Lokesh Kanagaraj, Vijay Sethupathi, and the rest of the crew joining in on the celebrations.
Coming back to Leo, the film marks the second time Vijay and Lokesh Kanagaraj have joined hands after Master, and expectations are huge for them to deliver a cracker of an entertainer. The film produced by S. S. Lalit Kumar's 7 Screen Studio banner also stars Trisha, Sanjay Dutt, Arjun, Mansoor Ali Khan, Mysskin, Gautham Menon, Priya Anand, Sandy master, and Mathew Thomas among others, and will feature music by 'Rockstar' Anirudh Ravichander.
