'Thalapathy' Vijay's Beast directed by Nelson Dilipkumar has created yet another record in the form of the 'Arabic Kuthu' song becoming the first-ever South Indian song to reach 100 Million streams on Spotify, blockbuster production and distribution banner Sun Pictures announced on Friday, October 21. Sharing a new poster, the production giant dropped the big announcement, which has come on the heels of the song's video recently crossing 300 million views on YouTube. Composed by 'Rockstar' Anirudh Ravichander, the chart-buster music director sang 'Arabic Kuthu' in Beast along with Jonita Gandhi to the lyrics penned by actor-producer Sivakarthikeyan and was picturized on Vijay and youth sensation Pooja Hegde, who played the female lead in the film. 'Arabic Kuthu' was the first song to be released in Beast and came out with tremendous hype, and rocketed to the charts instantly. Released on the occasion of Valentine's Day earlier this year, the song has since been made into various dance cover versions, with Sun Pictures as well during the promotions of the film inviting fans to take up the challenge of performing the iconic steps as done by Vijay and Pooja Hegde. 'Arabic Kuthu' in Beast was also declared to be the number 1 music video on the YouTube music global charts back in July and also became the most-viewed and liked South Indian song in the first 24 hours, while also earning the accolade of being the fastest track in South India to cross 50 million views on the video platform.
Apart from 'Arabic Kuthu', Beast included two other songs - 'Jolly O Gymkhana' and 'Beast Mode' - with praises pouring in for Anirudh for delivering yet another chart-buster album for Vijay after their previous association in Kaththi (2014) and Master (2021). Although Beast received mixed reviews, the film took a spectacular opening and currently remains one of the highest-grossing Tamil ventures worldwide.
