The big day is finally here - the highly-anticipated pooja ceremony video of the upcoming Tamil film, the tentatively Thalapathy 68, starring 'Thalapathy' Vijay in the lead role has now finally been released on the auspicious occasion of Vijayadashami on Tuesday, October 24. Billed to be a "high-octane action film", the film marks the first time collaboration between the Tamil cinema superstar with blockbuster filmmaker Venkat Prabhu, who is best known for his Chennai 600028 films, Saroja, Goa, Mankatha, Massu Engira Masilamani, and Maanaadu. Thalapathy 68 also marks the second time celebrated music director Yuvan Shankar Raja will be composing the songs and the background score for a Vijay-starrer after their Pudhiya Geethai, and expectations are high for him to deliver yet another entertaining album.
Thalapathy 68 was first made official in a video announcement back in May this year revealing Venkat Prabhu as the director of the prestigious project, with his frequent collaborator Yuvan Shankar Raja coming on board to compose the music. Having said that, the details regarding the cast and the crew of the high-profile project remained unknown, with several leading Tamil cinema names speculated to be a part of Vijay film since then. However, the wait has now come to an end for all Vijay fans everywhere as the team of Thalapathy 68 has officially revealed the names associated with the film, which is scheduled to be launched into cinemas in a grand manner in 2024.
Launched in a grand manner on October 2, Thalapathy 68 kicked off with a formal pooja ceremony, which saw the core cast and crew being revealed starting with actors Prashanth, Prabhu Deva, Sneha, Mohan, Jayaram, Laila, Yogi Babu, Ajmal, VTV Ganesh, while Venkat Prabhu's younger brother Premgi Amaren and their regular associates Vaibhav, Aravind Akash, and Ajay Raaj are also announced to be a part of the prestigious project. Popular actress and model Meenakshi Chaudhary has bagged the coveted female lead role opposite Vijay and is her next big film in Tamil cinema after starring in Vijay Antony's Kolai. The crew of Thalapathy 68 has also been announced among whom include cinematographer Siddhartha Nuni, production designer Rajeevan, editor Venkat Raajen, and stunt choreographer Dhilip Subbarayan, while Nikil Murugan and Riaz K. Ahmed are PROs of the film.
