It's raining updates for 'Thalapathy' Vijay's fans as the actor's next film, the tentatively titled Thalapathy 68, had its pooja ceremony video released on Tuesday, October 24, on the auspicious occasion of Vijayadashami. The upcoming project is billed to be a "high-octane action film" and is being directed by blockbuster Tamil filmmaker Venkat Prabhu, with 15 days of shooting already completed. With Vijay's fans having the time of their lives now, especially after the release of Leo in theatres last week and the Thalapathy 68 cast and crew being revealed earlier in the day, the film's team had one more big update to share and announced that the Venkat Prabhu directorial's audio rights have been bagged by music record label T-Series.
T-Series will be releasing the Thalapathy 68 album under their label across all languages and this is the second time the audio giant is associated with a Vijay-starrer after the box office blockbuster, Varisu, released earlier this year. There has been massive buzz surrounding the project right from the get-go as it will feature songs and a background score composed by celebrated music director Yuvan Shankar Raja, who has now boarded a Vijay film after they last worked together in Pudhiya Geethai (2003). The Vijay-Yuvan combo reunion has been a long-awaited one and there are tremendous expectations for the hit composer to come out firing on all cylinders for the Tamil superstar in Thalapathy 68.
With the day belonging to Thalapathy 68, the film's heroine Meenakshi Chaudhary had a surprise in store for fans and posted a picture of herself alongside Vijay from the pooja ceremony held on October 2. Sharing the photo on Instagram, the Kolai actress wrote in the caption: "Still feels like a dream!â¨â¨ So so excited to be a part of #Thalapathy68 Extremely grateful for all the wishes and cannot wait for you guys to see the magic on screen" (sic) Meenakshi Chaudhary is one among the vast number of stars who will be sharing screen space with Vijay in Thalapathy 68 releasing in 2024 and they include actors Prashanth, Prabhu Deva, Mohan, Jayaram, Laila, Sneha, Yogi Babu, Ajmal Amir, VTV Ganesh, while Venkat Prabhu's younger brother Premgi Amaren and their frequent collaborators Vaibhav, Aravind Akash, and Ajay Raaj will also be seen in pivotal roles in the prestigious project.
