Popular Telugu actor Adivi Sesh was hospitalised in Hyderabad on September 18 after he got infected with dengue and is currently under observation. A statement released by the hospital on Monday says there was a significant drop in the actor’s blood platelet count and continues to be there as of Monday. The statement reads as follows: "Actor Adivi Sesh has been infected with Dengue last week and due to a sudden drop in blood platelets, he has been hospitalised on 18th Sep. His condition is closely being monitored by a team of doctors. Any development regarding Sesh’s health would be communicated officially." Adivi is the second Telugu actor to be hospitalised in less than a month after Sai Dharam Tej, who regained consciousness last Saturday, met with a bike accident on September 10 on Vinayagar Chaturthi.
On the work front, Adivi Sesh, who is also a director and screenwriter, and won the Nandi Award for the Best Screenplay Writer for his 2016 mystery thriller film, Kshanam, will next be seen in the Telugu-Hindi bilingual Major. The upcoming film will see the actor portraying the role of martyred Indian soldier Sandeep Unnikrishnan, who sacrificed his life in the 2008 Mumbai terror attacks. Major is the second-time collaboration for Adivi with director Sashi Kiran after the two worked on Goodachari, which turned out to be a box office success. Jointly produced by Mahesh Babu’s GMB Entertainments, Sony Pictures India and A+S Movies, the film will see Bollywood actress and Dabangg 3 fame Saiee Manjrekar as the female lead. Expectations for Major are quite big as the film has been billed to be an important one in Adivi Sesh’s career. The actor also has in his line-up, HIT 2: The Second Case, which is the sequel to Vishwak Sen’s HIT: The First Case released in 2020.
