Veteran Tamil actor-filmmaker Manobala died due to liver-related problems on Wednesday, May 3, at his L. V. Prasad Road residence in Chennai. He was 69. Known predominantly for his appearances in comedy roles, he also made a name for himself as a filmmaker and producer over the course of his career in Tamil cinema and garnered a big fan following, especially for his performances and interesting speeches. With condolences and tributes pouring in from all corners, several notable Tamil cinema celebrities paid their last respects to Manobala in person, including 'Thalapathy' Vijay, who visited his home today.
Vijay is seen arriving at Manobala's residence in the presence of the police as a crowd throngs him while entering the apartment complex of the late Tamil actor. The Tamil superstar is seen carrying a garland of flowers as he's making an entry into the residence amidst a huge police protection. Vijay is also seen informing the people around him to be calm in one of the videos trending on social media. The news of Manobala's passing away has no doubt come as a massive shock to the Tamil film fraternity and fans, who are mourning the loss of the iconic actor.
Both Manobala and Vijay shared a good and friendly rapport over the years and appeared in several notable films together among which include Minsara Kanna, Azhagiya Thamizh Magan, Vettaikaran, Nanban, Thuppakki, Thalaiva, Theri, and Bigil. The last time the late actor spoke about Vijay on his Twitter page was during the shooting of Varisu last year year on the film's sets where he witnessed the superstar during a dance sequence. Manobala tweeted, "Met thalapathi VIJAY n varisu set…it was amazing …he s still d same…lots of energy while dancing …15mts talk…gave me freshness and energy for me too…" (sic)."
