'Superstar' Rajinikanth has begun his journey for his next big film, the tentatively titled Thalaivar 170, to be directed by Jai Bhim fame T. J. Gnanavel. Interacting with the media at the Chennai International Airport on Tuesday, October 3, the iconic Tamil actor went on to reveal that he is traveling to shoot for the upcoming film, which he informed will include a good social message and be made as an entertainer on a grand scale. Upon being asked about the Thalaivar 170 title, the actor stated that it has not been decided yet and will be done at a later date. Rajinikanth, who recently tasted phenomenal box office glory with Jailer, was also asked about the film's success, with the actor revealing that the final results were beyond what he had expected.
There has been a massive buzz surrounding Thalaivar 170 ever since the project was announced earlier this year in March. Rajinikanth's latest statement about the film will no doubt get fans excited as director T. J. Gnanavel impressed Tamil cinema audiences and critics with his legal drama Jai Bhim (2021) starring Suriya in the lead role. Thalaivar 170 has been the talk of the town with its casting announcements as the team has begun revealing the big names who will be sharing the screen with Rajinikanth starting with Asuran and Thunivu actress Manju Warrier, Sarpatta Parambarai star Dushara Vijayan, and Oh My Kadavule fame Ritika Singh, who will be appearing in key roles.
Thalaivar 170 will also feature music by Anirudh Ravichander, who will be composing the songs and the background score for a Rajinikanth-starrer for the fourth time after Petta (2019), Darbar (2020), and Jailer (2023). It is to be noted that the actor had showered praises on the 'Rockstar' of Tamil cinema for playing an instrumental role in the box office triumph of Jailer during the success meet held last month. Fans will be looking forward to Anirudh delivering a banger of an album for Rajinikanth's Thalaivar 170 along with an electrifying background score once again.
