It's Jailer fever everywhere as 'Superstar' Rajinikanth's upcoming film is the talk of the town and is set to take a stellar opening in theatres worldwide starting August 10. The advance bookings for the mass action entertainer directed by Nelson Dilipkumar under the prestigious Sun Pictures banner and featuring music composed by Anirudh Ravichander have been phenomenal as tickets are already sold out for opening day across many parts of the world. That being said, Sun Pictures has now taken the Jailer promotions to the next level by announcing that the film's promotional material will be screened once every 15 minutes at the world-renowned Aria luxury resort and casino in Las Vegas, USA, on August 7 between 5 p.m. to 2 a.m. after taking over Times Square in New York City, earlier this week.
Sun Pictures' latest promotional strategy will no doubt create plenty of buzz for Rajinikanth's Jailer in the USA, with the actor being labelled as "India's biggest superstar in the entertainment capital of the world". The film is coming out overseas under the Ayngaran International banner, which has in the past earned recognition for securing a huge release for Tamil films abroad. Likewise, Jailer is set for a grand premiere in the US on August 9 under the Prime Media banner, and early reports suggest the ticket bookings are huge considering Rajinikanth enjoys a large fan following in the States.
The excitement for Jailer has been stunning from the start and the expectations shot up tenfold after the recently-released action-packed trailer, which presented Rajinikanth with his trademark swag once again. The film will see the actor sharing screen space with several big names among whom Kannada superstar Dr. Shivarajkumar and iconic Malayalam actor Mohanlal will be appearing in cameo roles. The film also stars Bollywood star Jackie Shroff, Ramya Krishnan, Tamannaah, Yogi Babu, Taramani and Rocky actor Vasanth Ravi, Pushpa fame Sunil, and Mirnaa Menon in key roles, while Vinayakan of Mariyan fame is playing the antagonist. Jailer is a big film for Rajinikanth and Nelson Dilipkumar as both of them will be looking to hit the bullseye after each of their previous films, Annaatthe (2021) and Beast (2022), received mixed feedback despite turning out to be stellar commercial successes.
