Superstar Rajinikanth's Annaatthe is one of the most expected films of this year and the fans have pinned high hopes on the project. Looking at the buzz surrounding the film, one can be sure of its success at the box office. The latest exciting update on Annaatthe is that the shooting of the film is currently taking place in Lucknow. Director Siva's brother, Bala, who is acting in Annaatthe, took to his official Facebook page to share this update with the fans. Confirming his presence in the film, actor Bala posted, "The one and only superstar RAJINIKANTH Sir movie. Its a honour to work with the legend. ANNATHE SHOOT IN LUCKNOW".

This update has excited the fans and it looks like the makers are inching towards the completion of the film. Annaatthe is directed by Siva of Viswasam fame and has music composed by D Imman. Produced by Sun Pictures, the film features an ensemble star cast that includes the likes of Khushbu Sundar, Meena, Keerthy Suresh, Nayanthara, Prakash Raj, Jagapathi Babu, Soori, Sathish, and others. Among the lot, Keerthy Suresh will be seen playing a crucial role, as Rajinikanth's younger sister.

The film has cinematography by Vetri and editing by Ruben. Late singer SP Balasubrahmanyam has crooned for the introduction song of Annaatthe, while Sid Sriram and others are said to have lent their voices for the rest of the songs in the album. As per the current plan, Annaatthe is scheduled to release in theatres on November 4, 2021, for the festive occasion of Diwali. However, the plan is subject to change depending on the Covid 19 situation in the country. It has been quite a long time since we saw Rajinikanth in a full-fledged rural film and on that aspect, Annaatthe is going to be a refreshing watch.
