The Super Singer Junior 9 finale held grandly at the Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor Stadium in Chennai on Sunday, December 10, witnessed Shreenitha emerge as the title winner. Hailing from Karamadai in the Coimbatore district, the young singer received a flat worth Rs 60 lakhs, while also taking home the winner's trophy. With Shreenitha coming out in flying colors at the Super Singer Junior 9 finale, the hit singing talent hunt show airing on the Vijay Television network also saw Harshini Nethra and Akshara Lakshmi being declared the first and second runners-up and winning a cash prize of Rs 10 lakh and Rs 5 lakh, respectively.
Apart from Shreenitha, Harshini Nethra, and Akshara Lakshmi taking the top three spots at the Super Singer Junior 9 finale, the recently concluded edition also witnessed contestants Ananya, Richa, and Meghna each being awarded a cash prize award of Rs. 3 lakh, respectively. The six finalists at the Super Singer Junior 9 finale were judged based on two performances in the finals by singers KS Chithra and Anthony Dasan, and composer S Thaman while special performances were given by Pradeep Kumar and former participants.
Super Singer Junior 9, which kicked off a few months back with Ma Ka Pa Anand and Priyanka Deshpande as the anchors, also saw contestants landing opportunities in Tamil cinema among whom were Shreenitha, Shivathmika, Harshini Nethra, and Colorvedi Gokul who sang the 'Life Is On' song in the recently-released Nayanthara film, Annapoorani: The Goddess of Food, composed by Thaman. S. The season also saw Harshini Nethra displaying her mimicry skills, Colorvedi Gokul rising to the occasion by singing in the gaana genre, and several others showcasing their talents, with Tamil cinema stars also making appearances on the show among whom were iconic actress Radha, director Mari Selvaraj, filmmaker-actor SJ Suryah, and actors Karthi, and Harish Kalyan to name a notable few.
