Sun Network has created a new record by becoming the No.1 TV network, not just in Tamil Nadu, but throughout South India, with a mammoth number of 438 crore impressions. Sun TV is the No.1 Tamil channel with a record impression of 111 crores, while Gemini TV is the No.1 Telugu channel with 60 crore impressions. It can be noted that Sun TV is retelecasting some of the classic serials once again, including Metti Oli, Chithi, Kolangal, Thangam, and so on.

The channel is also making use of this quarantine period to telecast blockbuster Tamil films everyday from morning to night. It looks like their strategy has paid off nicely. This statistical report is recorded for the 17th week of the year, dated between April 20 and April 26. The report has been calculated and recorded by BARC (Broadcast Audience Research Council).
