Pathu Thala an upcoming gangster film directed by Obeli N Krishna of Sillunu Oru Kaadhal fame. Produced by KE Gnanavel Raja under the banner of Studio Green, the film is the official Tamil remake of the highly successful Kannada blockbuster film, Mufti. The film will feature STR and Gautham Karthik in lead roles with the former reprising the role played by Kannada Superstar Dr. Shiva Rajkumar, and he will be seen playing the role of a don AGR, while the latter will be playing an undercover cop. Priya Bhavani Shankar will play the female lead in the film, while renowned filmmaker Gautham Vasudev Menon has also been added to the cast.

Gautham Karthik celebrates his birthday today (September 12) and in order to celebrate this auspicious day, the makers of the film released a brand new character poster of the actor from the upcoming film in order to commemorate this special day. The team of Studio Green took to their official Twitter handle to share this new glimpse with the fans. The music for Pathu Thala has music been composed by the Isaipuyal A. R. Rahman and his music is something that everyone is looking forward to as Rahman is a legend in the field. Pathu Thala has been scheduled for a theatrical release later this year on December 14.

Meanwhile, on the work front, Simbu is currently awaiting the release of his highly anticipated Gautham Vasudev Menon directorial Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu which features Siddhi Idnani as the female lead. The film is all set to hit the screens on September 15 and marks the third collaboration between STR and GVM.
