Silambarasan TR is currently working on his next big film, Pathu Thala, being directed by Sillunu Oru Kaadhal fame Obeli N. Krishna under K. E. Gnanavelraja's Studio Green banner. Billed to be an intense action drama, the film set is said to be a remake of Mufti in Kannada and will see the flamboyant actor playing the role of an underworld don named AGR with music by Academy Award-winning composer A. R. Rahman. Announced to arrive in theatres worldwide on December 14, a new video of Simbu in character as AGR from Pathu Thala has now been unveiled on social media by popular Malayalam actress Anu Sithara, who too will be seen playing a crucial role in the film.
In the video shared by Anu Sithara, we see the actress posing for the cameras alongside STR and popular child artiste Manasvi Kottachi of Imaikkaa Nodigal and Maamanithan fame. This latest video has now for the first time confirmed that the actress is indeed a part of Pathu Thala although details of her role remain scarce. Whether Anu plays Simbu's wife or romantic interest in the film remains to be seen and will no doubt leave many fans curious as it shows the two stars posing together as a couple with a child. The actress posted the video on her Instagram to the 'Manmadhane Nee' song from Silambarasan's 2004 blockbuster Manmadhan. Anu Sithara's Insta post has since been deleted, but can be viewed below:

Apart from STR and Anu Sithara, Pathu Thala has Gautham Karthik as an undercover cop, while youth sensation Priya Bhavani Shankar is playing the role of a tahsildar, and filmmaker Gautham Vasudev Menon is the antagonist, followed by Kalaiyarasan, Asuran fame Teejay Arunasalam, and poet Manushyaputhiran among others cast in major supporting roles. Expectations for Pathu Thala have been massive right from the get-go and all sights are set on Silambarasan to deliver yet another power-packed performance and this time as a don.
