Leading Tamil actor-producer Sivakarthikeyan has kicked off his 2023 on a grand start with Maaveeran, which has also been released in Telugu under the title Mahaveerudu. The political fantasy action film directed by Mandela fame Madonne Ashwin and produced by Arun Viswa's Shanthi Talkies banner also stars Viruman sensation Aditi Shankar as the female lead, with Mysskin cast as the antagonist, followed by Saritha, Yogi Babu among others appearing in key roles, while Vijay Sethupathi has done a special voice-over.
With Maaveeran and its Telugu version Mahaveerudu continuing to witness a strong audience turnout in theatres everywhere and the film already declared to be a box office blockbuster, Sivakarthikeyan has now surprised fans by sharing a video of his transformation for his role as Sathya in the film, which shows him sporting a funk-type hairdata-style. In the video posted on his Instagram page, we see Sivakarthikeyan ready to undergo a look change for his role as Sathya in Maaveeran, with a makeup person doing his hair, while also giving him a tanned look akin to a youngster hailing from the North Madras area.
Maaveeran has become a phenomenal success grossing over 50 crores in collections at the worldwide box office in less than a week and once again reminding fans of the powerhouse star Sivakarthikeyan has become in recent years. The film released in Tamil Nadu by Red Giant Movies is yet another feather in the cap for the prestigious production-distribution banner in 2023 after box office hits like Ajith Kumar's Thunivu, 'Thalapathy' Vijay's Varisu (Chennai city, Chengalpet, Coimbatore and North Arcot and South Arcot areas), Kavin's Dada, Vetri Maaran's Viduthalai Part 1, Mani Ratnam's epic blockbuster Ponniyin Selvan: 2, and more recently Udhayanidhi Stalin's Maamannan. With Sivakarthikeyan's Maaveeran set to not face any big competition for the next few days at the box office, we can expect the film to continue delighting family audiences and inch closer to the 100-crore club after his Doctor (2021) and Don (2022).
