Sivakarthikeyan's first major release of 2023 will be the mass entertainer bilingual Maaveeran, which is also coming out in Telugu under the title Mahaveerudu. Directed by Mandela fame Madonne Ashwin and produced under Arun Viswa's Shanthi Talkies banner, a major chunk of the upcoming film's shooting has already been completed and promotions as well are underway. With the digital rights of Maaveeran / Mahaveerudu recently being acquired by leading streaming platform Amazon Prime Video, it has now been announced that the film's satellite partner is broadcasting giant Sun TV.
On Saturday, March 11, Shanthi Talkies released a special promo informing fans that the telecast rights of Maaveeran have been bagged by Sun TV, while also giving a new glimpse of Sivakarthikeyan. The film is one of the biggest and most-awaited ventures of 2023 and has quite a lot of expectations surrounding it after the actor-producer's Prince didn't perform as expected last year. SK's Maaveeran has music composed by Mandela music director Bharath Sankar and the first single 'Scene Ah Scene Ah' released a few days back received a strong feedback from fans, who are now waiting for the rest of the songs in the album. Check out the Maaveeran satellite rights announcement below:
Sivakarthikeyan is paired with Aditi Shankar, who became a youth sensation after her powerful performance in Karthi's Viruman, and their on-screen rapport will no doubt be a big USP in Maaveeran. The film also stars acclaimed filmmaker Mysskin and Telugu actor Sunil of Pushpa: The Rise fame as the antagonists, while veteran actress Saritha and comedian Yogi Babu will be seen in key roles. Maaveeran had an intriguing glimpse unveiled during the film's launch last year, which showed Sivakarthikeyan in action mode in a comic book data-style with storyboards and comic data-style drawing.
