The 2018 sports drama Kanaa tells the story of Kousalya (AKA Kousy), the daughter of a farmer, who dreams of becoming an international cricketer and winning the Cricket World Cup. She faces various challenges along the way as she pursues her dream with the support of her father. The film is written and directed by Arunraja Kamaraj, who made an impressive debut. It is produced by actor Sivakarthikeyan who made his debut as the producer of this venture under his newly established SK Productions banner. The film turned out to be critically acclaimed among the critics while garnering great response from the audience, as well. Latest news regarding the film is that it is all set to release in China.

Yes! The movie will hit Chinese screens on 18 March 2022. Sivakarthikeyan himself took this news to Twitter to announce this to the public. Kanaa was originally released theatrically on 21 December 2018 starring Sathyaraj, Aishwarya Rajesh, Darshan and Sivakarthikeyan in a supporting role. Dhibu Ninan Thomas composed the music for the film, cinematography was done by Dinesh Krishnan and editing by Ruben. It was also later remade in Telugu in 2019 titled Kousalya Krishnamurthy, with Aishwarya and Sivakarthikeyan reprising their respective roles.

Other than this, Sivakarthikeyan, who is trending online for penning 'Thalapathy' Vijay's viral song 'Arabic Kuthu', is awaiting the release of his upcoming film, Don, directed by Cibi Chakravarthi. He is also currently shooting for his next film with KV Anudeep, titled SK 20, which is a bilingual film available in both Tamil and Telugu. Recently, a new official poster for his science-fiction comedy titled Ayalaan was also revealed.
