In an unfortunate incident, American singer Bebe Rexha sustained a deep cut near her eye after a mobile phone was hurled at her by a fan during her New York City concert on Sunday. The 'Say My Name' singer was performing at her 13th concert at The Rooftop at Pier 17 in NYC when she got hit on the head by the cell phone, with a video of the shocking incident now doing the rounds on social media. The video also showed Rexha's support crew rushing to her aid, with organizers ending the concert, while canceling a meet and greet event that was earlier scheduled to happen after the musical celebration event.
Taking to Instagram, Rexha, who is currently on her nationwide Best F’n Night Of My Life tour across North America, also posted photos highlighting the cut near her eyebrows along with the caption: "Im good." The first picture shows a bandage covering the cut and the singer showing the thumbs-up sign, while the bruise is seen without any protective covering in the second image. Rexha's mother told the media after the concert that the singer had received three stitches during her treatment. Fans have been extending their support to the 'Me, Myself & I' singer wishing her a quick recovery.
According to Us Weekly, the New York City Police Department arrested a 27-year-old New Jersey resident named Nicolas Malvagna. The police said that he has been charged with assault for perpetrating the incident on Bebe Rexha and that he "intentionally threw a cell phone" at her. The NYPD said in a statement, "On Sunday, June 18, 2023, at approximately 2200 hours, police were notified of an assault that occurred at the concert space of Pier 17 located at 89 South Street, within the confines of the 1st Precinct."
