Bollywood actor Siddhanth Kapoor was arrested earlier on Monday (June 13) for allegedly consuming narcotics at a rave party in a city hotel in Bangalore on MG Road. He is the son of actor Shakti Kapoor, famous for his roles like Crime Master Gogo in Andaz Apna Apna, and brother to actress Shraddha Kapoor, famous for her roles like Arohi Keshav Shirke in Aashiqui 2. A total of 35 people were detained for allegedly throwing a drug fueled party on Sunday (June 12) night. The detained people have been subjected to medical examination, and among them, five confirmed that they have consumed drugs, the police said. One of the five is confirmed to have been Siddhanth Kapoor.

The Deputy Commissioner of Police, Dr. Bheemashankar S. Guled, East division, Bengaluru City told reporters, "It is confirmed that Bollywood actor Shakti Kapoor's son Siddhant Kapoor took drugs. He tested positive for drugs in the blood test report. Hence, he has been brought to Ulsoor police station." Police also seized seven pills of Ecstacy and a packet of marijuana from where the party took place. The accused have all been booked under Sections 22A, 22B, and 27B of the Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act.

The act of drug abuse was also unearthed in a section of the Kannada film industry back in 2020 where actors like Ragini Dwivedi and Sanjjanaa Galrani and former minister late Jeevaraj Alva's son Aditya Alva were arrested. Siddhanth Kapoor has acted in several Hindi films such as Shootout at Wadala, Ugly, etc. He has also worked as an assistant director in movies like Bhool Bhulaiyaa, Chup Chup Ke, and Bhagam Bhag. Siddhanth Kapoor's sister Shraddha was questioned by the Narcotics Control Bureau in 2020 in Sushant Singh Rajput's death case over alleged possession of drugs. However, nothing substantial was proved.
