It is a known fact that Bollywood actor Shahid Kapoor is featuring in the Hindi remake of Telugu sports drama Jersey. Shahid plays a cricketer with impeccable skills in the film, so he had to practice a lot to fit into the role. The shooting for this project began recently in Chandigarh and that’s when Shahid was down recently with injury after a ball hit him in the face and he was soon rushed for treatment. It is reported that Shahid suffered a major blow on his face which required stitches and sutures on his lip. Shahid is now back to Mumbai to recover.
Apparently, the actor cannot shoot until the swelling on his lower lip subsides. He is expected to resume shoot in a week or two. To make things clear, Shahid has now issued a statement for his fans via Twitter. His tweet reads as follows: “Thank you for all the concern. Yes I have got a few stitches but am recovering fast. #jersey has taken a little bit of my blood but a script this good deserves that in the least. Have a good one you all. Keep it real. Make it count. Spread the love. Humanity above all.” Jersey is directed by Gowtam Tinnanuri who did the original version too. The makers are eyeing for an August 28 release.
