Santhosh Narayanan is one of the leading music composers who delivers something new to listeners in each one of his music albums. The music composer, who made his debut with the hit album Attakathi has made his mark by delivering multiple hit albums and original background Scores. The composer has done films in Telugu and Malayalam and has also composed music from the Hindi web series Faadu and The Night Manager. His upcoming project is the pan-India film Dasara starring Nani and Keerthy Suresh in Leading Roles. In Tamil, the talented composer has various projects in the pipeline including Andhagan and Jigarthanda Double X.
The music composer gave for an exclusive interview with Baradwaj Rangan, the editor-in-Chief of Galatta Plus, ahead of his Sounds of South concert in Malaysia. Santhosh Narayanan spilled interesting details about the hit Neruppu Da song from Rajinikanth starrer Kabali. When Baradwaj Rangan asked if the concert would have an extended version of his songs, The music composer said “It's crazy! for example for Neruppu Da, we have a long version of the song which I though should be release. We initially released it like a theme and we will just dropped it and it just blew up and went viral. By the time we thought of releasing the other (longer) version, this already blown up and I was like let's not do it as it will look like we are riding on the wave or something. So we have that version (in the concert)." When asked why they did not release it, the composer said "it's just how Ranjith and I think. we got a weird way of looking at things."
The music composer then said that he will archive and save every change he makes to the songs he composed and revelad "the longer version of Neruppu Da was version 32 and I played it to a close friend, then, I played version 1. He liked version 1 better. And everyone I showed it to liked version 1 and so we let go of version 32. We will be performing version 16 or something and we have tweaked it to make it better. It's will be like heavy metal live version."
