Film and TV actor Sandeep Nahar died on Monday night by suicide and had written a detailed note on Facebook about his decision to taking the drastic step. He had also posted a video in which he pointed out the differences with his wife, Kanchan Sharma, to be the main reason, while also mentioning the "politics" in Bollywood, the Mumbai Police said in a statement. Found hanging at his flat in Goregaon by wife Kanchan and neighbors, the actor was rushed to a nearby hospital and was declared dead upon arrival. Sandeep, who had posted the video on his Facebook page, can be heard saying that he was "frustrated" due to the constant fights with his wife and added that he has been subjected to harassment and blackmailing by her and his mother-in-law.
The ten-minute-long video, which has since been deleted on Sandeep Nahar's Facebook page, has been posted on other social networking forums, which is going viral. In the video, the actor is seen saying, "I would have committed suicide long back, but I chose to try being hopeful about things taking a better turn, but they haven't. Now, I have no other choice. I do not know what is up next for me once I resort to this step, but I have suffered in hell in this lifetime."
In a statement to the media, the police said that Nahar had probably made the video around three hours before his death. Officials have also stated that they are currently waiting for the postmortem report to identify the cause of the actor's death. Apart from the video, Nahar had also written a suicide note in which he had mentioned the "politics" he had faced over the years in Bollywood.
Sandeep Nahar is known among fans for starring in late Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput's MS: Dhoni - The Untold Story, while also being cast in Akshay Kumar’s Kesari and Sonakshi Sinha's Khandani Shafakhana. He also played an important role in ALT Balaji's Kehne Ko Humsafar Hai, including landing a part in the Divyenndu-starrer Shukranu. Watch Sandeep Nahar's last message in his video below:
