Leading Tamil actress Samantha Ruth Prabhu has resumed working after taking a break to focus on her health. The Kushi (2023) star announced the big news on Saturday evening, February 10, while informing fans that the project she has worked on is a health podcast, which will be coming out later this week. Posting a video on her Instagram Stories, Samantha said, "Yes, I am going back to work, finally… But, apart from that, in the meantime, I was so completely jobless. But, I am doing something fun with a friend. It’s a health podcast. It is quite unexpected, I know, but it is something that I really, really love. I am extremely passionate about and, well, it's a health podcast, and I'm very excited that it's releasing next week. And, I hope that some of you really find it useful. And, I think I have enjoyed making this."
Last July, Samantha announced a break from acting in an effort to focus on her health and underwent treatment for her autoimmune condition, Myositis, in the US, while also traveling around the world. She was last seen in the Telugu romantic comedy film, Kushi, opposite Vijay Deverakonda, which turned out to be a major box office success, and marked their big screen reunion after the blockbuster Mahanati (2018). As for her upcoming ventures, Samantha will be seen next in the highly-anticipated Amazon Prime web series Citadel alongside Bollywood superstar Varun Dhawan directed by the Raj & DK duo, with whom she previously collaborated in the second season of The Family Man. Samantha's last major film in Tamil was Kaathuvaakula Rendu Kaadhal (2022) alongside Vijay Sethupathi and Nayanthara under Vignesh Shivan's direction, and fans are now waiting for her to make a complete recovery before she announces a comeback to cinema once again.
