Rio Raj's latest film Joe has been garnering a good response, with the number of shows in theatres across Tamil Nadu getting increased with each passing day. Having become a household name across the state even before his stint on Bigg Boss Tamil season 4, the popular Tamil actor and VJ had made a name for himself with his appearances on Vijay Television's Kana Kaanum Kaalangal and Saravanan Meenatchi (Season 3), while also being seen on shows like Jodi Number One and Ready Steady Po to name a notable few. Having emerged as the 2nd Runner-Up on Bigg Boss Tamil 4, Rio recently during a special meet and greet event organized by Galatta, opened up about his experiences and explained his big regret by appearing on the hit reality TV show.

Having previously been featured in the lead role on the big screen in films Nenjamundu Nermaiyundu Odu Raja (2019), Plan Panni Pannanum (2021), and Broken Script (2023), Rio opened up about his Bigg Boss Tamil season 4 appearance and said, "I had thoughts about whether there was a connection missing between me and the fans during COVID-19. There were so many changes happening at the time even in the entertainment industry. And, when I looked back, my place was in television, and I felt that if I entered Bigg Boss, that connection would be maintained. I would be going in to have fun and come back." Upon being asked whether he had any regrets about going to Bigg Boss, Rio gave a firm acknowledgment but also requested the fans who voted for him to not find fault with his statement. He said, "When we realize that we make a mistake, we can come out of it only when we accept it, or else we'll be stuck within it. I made a mistake and I have regrets."

When asked about the mistakes he made during his stint on Bigg Boss Tamil season 4, Rio said, "I didn't do anything during the last two weeks on the show. I didn't speak much during the last week. I was silent. I'm an entertainer and a showstopper. I should have spoken and performed. Since it was the finale week, I should have presented myself with a lot of exuberance. But, I never spoke and obviously, I have a regret. And, when I came out, I got asked why I was in low spirits and that's when I understood that as an entertainer I should have performed since so many people had voted for me to come to that point. I have the regret that I didn't perform." Whether he would go back to Bigg Boss anytime in the future, Rio made it clear that he would not with a firm NO.
