'Superstar' Rajinikanth met Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel at the Raj Bhawan in Lucknow on Saturday morning, August 19. They exchanged greetings and engaged in a courtesy call discussion, and photos of their meeting have also been shared by the official X account of Raj Bhavan, Uttar Pradesh, which show them interacting and posing for the camera. Rajinikanth met UP Governor Anandiben Patel after recently visiting the Himalayas and the Rajrappa Temple in Ranchi, Jharkhand, and will next be meeting the state's Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath later in the day.
Speaking to news agency ANI earlier in the day, Rajinikanth told that he is attending a screening of his latest Tamil film, Jailer, with Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath. The iconic Tamil actor further revealed that he will be paying a visit to Ayodhya tomorrow and taking a tour of the holy city. Earlier, Rajinikanth was in Ranchi where he visited the Chhinnamasta Temple on Thursday and offered his prayers after meditating at the Yagoda Ashram, which was followed by his meeting with Jharkhand Governor C P Radhakrishnan at the Raj Bhavan.
Rajinikanth also had a meeting on Friday with Amba Prasad, Jharkhand Indian National Congress (INC) MLA, who took to X to share pictures of their interaction, while revealing that she made him aware of the public welfare works being carried out in her Barkagaon assembly. As for Jailer, the Rajinikanth-starrer is smashing records at the box office, with the prestigious Sun Pictures banner earlier this week revealing that the film's first-week total gross collection of 375.40 crores (tentative - still updating) is the highest in the history of Tamil cinema. With Jailer witnessing a stellar response in cinemas everywhere, the Tamil superstar will be seen next in a cameo in his daughter Aishwarya Rajinikanth's directorial, Lal Salaam. Rajinikanth will also begin filming his next big film, the tentatively titled Thalaivar 170 under Jai Bhim fame T. J. Gnanavel's direction soon.
