Director Gautham Vasudev Menon's Enai Noki Paayum Thota is running in the theatres right now. Keeping that aside, it is now time for us to witness a glimpse from the ace filmmaker's next creation. Yes, we are talking about Queen, the web series based on former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalitha. This series is directed by Gautham Vasudev Menon along with director Prasath Murugesan of Kidaari fame. Featuring Ramya Krishnan in the titular character as Shakthi Seshadri (fictional name), this one has music by Darbuka Siva and cinematography by Velraj, S.R.Kathir, and Manikandan. The makers of Queen have now released the trailer of the series and it looks promising.
With a director like Gautham Menon at the helm, there is a certain amount of minimum guarantee and that is seen through this newly released trailer. This promo video takes us through some of the important moments in the life of Shakthi. Ramya Krishnan comes very close to Jayalalitha in terms of looks and appearance and on that note, ample credits for the make up, styling and direction team.
The story happens in three different time periods and three different actors have played the lead character in each period. Viswasam and Yennai Arindhaal fame Anikha will be seen as the young age Shakthi, while Anjana Jayaprakash of Dhuruvangal Pathinaaru fame will be seen as the teenager version of Shakthi. Indrajith Sukumaran plays the character of MGR in this series.
Through the trailer, the makers have announced that the full series of Queen will release on December 14. The series will stream on the MX Player platform. All the episodes will release on the same day on Dec 14. Until then, check out this trailer (below these images):
