SR Prabhu is an inspirational young film producer who is known for funding interesting and critically acclaimed Tamil films. In 2010, he and his brother SR Prakashbabu founded Dream Warrior Pictures, a film production company. He is also a partner in Potential Studios, which is another film production company. Last year SR Prabhu had 4 movies releases NGK, Monster, Raatchasi and Kaithi. Kaithi and Monster went on to do well at the box office. SR Prabhu is currently Sibiraj’s Vattam and Karthi’s Sulthaan. He is also expected to do a film with Suriya in the near future.

Meanwhile, SR Prabhu has now shared his views on the ongoing OTT vs theatres war. Being a responsible producer to aims for the betterment of the industry, Prabhu states - “OTT & Theatrical are two different avenues. If at all someone has to worry, it’s the non theatrical segment. Also film producers are the only source of content providers for theatres & these two are bound for life. So let’s try to survive this pandemic to start over instead of statement wars!✌🏼”

Jyothika’s Ponmagal Vandhal will be the first big Tamil film to have a direct theatrical release, the film is scheduled to be released on 29 May 2020 on Amazon Prime. It was originally set to be released theatrically on 27 March, but due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the theatrical release was dropped in favour of a digital release.
